I'm going tomorrow for 5 days. Will be fishing from the Johnson branch mostly. I'll let you know how it goes.

I went the Sunday before last, caught about around 30 to 40 on a little george, in about 25 ft , problem is only a few keepers, most of them were under 10inches, just south of wolf island

I was out today and caught 47 in a couple hours this afternoon. This is the second day in the past week I've done pretty good. First stop was just outside of the marina and there were birds working in about 30 ft of water. I really wanted to fish for crappie, so I left them biting after catching 10. After an hour of not finding crappie I went to the mid lake humps straight out from the marina and I found them pretty easy on top of a hump in 25 ft of water. Caught another 37 in about 1.5 hours and they were good size. Probably only 10 out of the 47 were not keepers and many were 14 inchers. They were all caught slabbing the bottom or casting out, let it settle to bottom then begin retrieve.

Went yesterday caught 25 in 25-35 fow. SE of marina there is a flat about midway across but it is a very large flat. Bumping CC spoons just barely off bottom. Use a good map its hard to miss. Going again right now, I'll update later.

P.S. Almost half the fish I cleaned had eggs, I thought they had spawned up the creeks already. Any marine biologists out there?

Same thing today, went home with 33. We started at the same spot as yesterday but the wind was too much so we looked for a flat on the east side close to shore. After some looking we found the same situation, fish bit anywhere from 20-30 fow. Best seemed to be 25+. Some dinks but pretty good keeper to dink ratio. Arrived at 10 am they quit biting at 1pm.

Duke 59.. I think I fished the same hump that has a saddle right behind it. We caught one trolling and caught zero slabbing. Not sure if there is some tactic I'm not using. We caught some down by the flat off the island by the dam. Found them all in 21-25 feet of water. Kept 5 and let another 4 go. All caught on hellbenders with kids holding the poles. Could not slab a sandbass up for the life of me. Maybe my style of what I'm doing only works on the summer pattern. All fish caught where females and still had their eggs in them.

We went this eveing at 3-7 pm. 5 kids and me in the boat! smile Any pointers on how to slab would be appreciated.

We did good all week. The fish are 20-30 ft deep. Using chartreuse/white slabs 1/2 ounce slabs and pink/white slabs. In afternoon, check the mouths of the creeks and look for the birds. Sandies are starting to surface a little bit. We have huge sandies this year.
