Started in a big cove south of the Isle Du Bois state park ramp. We were boat 85 and by the time we got there we was about the 7th or 8th boat in the area. Caught our first keeper about 9:30. Finally give up on that area and moved to some brush piles in Johnson. Caught a 2# and a 4# on spinnerbaits within 10 minutes of arrival then couldn't get another bite. With one hour to go we Moved out to the main lake point and started flipping bushes and caught 2 more keepers and culled a couple ounces once. Wished we would have been flipping all day. Would have liked to have got a big bite but over all pretty pleased that we got what we got. Ended up with 12.41lb for 55th place.

My partner (Dad) and I decided to fish this tournament at the very last minute on Friday evening. Neither one of us had ever been on Ray Roberts so we were fishing blind. I looked at a map and chose a cove close to the take off on the west arm(?) of the lake. We stayed in that cove all day and managed to catch a few fish. We weighed in 10.91 pounds. We had a good time and it was good to finally fish Ray Roberts. It was not what I expected and I will be going back to learn it for future tournaments. I want to check out the eastern arm(?) where about 99% of all the boats went at take off. We only saw a handful of boats all day where we were. We generally flipped brush with soft plastics and spinner baits. I did catch a big drum on a Carolina rig off a point. I thought we just won 20K bucks when I set the hook, but was quickly disappointed when I saw it. That thing put up a good fight!

Never seen a bite so tough. We swung on lots of fish no matter how long we let them eat it. The ones we did hook would get off on their first jump. Had fun. Did some sight fishing. We saw 30 pounds on beds but they just were not ready. Good time on water, just couldn't get em in boat. Glad everyone stayed safe. Good experiences from the boats we did run into.

My experience also my last time out. Had them grab a fluke, move it a few inches, and spit it out several times.
See you on the lake and have a great day!

We were boat 182 and started south as well. Flipped bushes and got a 12"er in the first couple of hours. Pulled back thinking maybe the fished pulled back from the front and them pulling water. That didn't work either. Left out about 10:30 and headed up the lake. Pulled in Sand and as I figured there were plenty of people there. But we decided to stay and see what we could do. Fished there for a couple of hours without a bite. We flipped bushes again and pulled off the points and fished the creek channel as well. Couldn't do anything with them. Decided to make a bigger move in hopes that the North end might be warmer which might trigger some bites for us. Took off about 1:00 and ran to Buck. Fished up in that part of the lake again flipping bushes and then pulling out and then moving off points. Had one more small fish at 3:30 and ran to the ramp and put it on the trailer.
I'm very confused by this spring. I can't seem to get a quality bite. Well, that's not true, I got plenty of quality slot fish in the Fork tournament and took zero to the scales twice now.
Maybe I should try crappie fishing with minnows.

Son and I have never fished this lake before so we just picked a spot on the map and we went to it, Boat 257 close to 8am when we got to the spot , it was a small pocket off the main lake,, started out with spinner bait and senko fish a few minutes and I hooked a small fish on the senko and it got off,
Since the water was dropping I picked up the C rig and started fishing the out side brush,, 6-8 'close to the point and caught a keeper,, 2 casts later, I set the hook on a big fish she starts pulling drag, and I can't do anything with her, I was trying to get her out of the brush, when she goes back down and breaks off in the brush.
10 min later my son catches a keeper same spot on C rig. So we move up in the pocket and fish for like 2 hours, NOTHING, we were talking about going back to the point where I lost that big fish,, we decided we were going to fish are way out I picked up a swim bait started throwing it over the flooded cover when a big fish rolls up on the bait,, I saw this fish and she was 6-8 pounds and just missed the bait, dang 2 big fish lost,, anyway we filled out a limit 11.18, 61st place.
We only fell one place in points 11th to 12th. So a good day for us.

We were boat #48. We caught a total of 9 fish off of Roy's Point. 3 of them were keepers that went 7.81 lbs. We had a largemouth, spotted and a smallie. The smallie was about 4 lbs. Caught all out fish off of lizards including 2 big gaspergoos that got our blood pumping.
