So I'm headed out to Fork tomorrow morning, it's my first time fishing there. I know nothing about the lake except that they have a lot of big fish. Anyone willing to share some info on the lake? thanks.

Stay in the boat lanes and hug the buoys, idle out of the lanes. Caught some decent bass last weekend using chartreuse/white chatterbaits in 2' depth. Fish your strengths and have at them

Lake is up right now so be careful. Stay in boat lanes as mentioned before. Seen lots of first timers lose lower units or punch holes. It may look fine outside of the boat lane, but it isn't.

Whats the lake temp right now.?
The gene pool could use a little chlorine.

Yep, I was seeing mid to upper 60's yesterday and today. Saw several fish on beds, 1 fry guarder. The fish on beds were very easily spooked. Tough day today.

Two days of fishing and two fish...Ole Mother Fork is not fishing very well at the moment or at least where I'm fishing. Spoke to bunches of folks that had a hard time this weekend. Anyone hear of the Gambler tournament results?

Buddy of mine fished it, said there were 58 teams, no overs were weighed in and 6 pounds and some change won the tournament. He won big bass with a 2 something.

Catching mostly dinks.

We managed to catch 29 yesterday. Nothing of size so not much to brag about. Found a group of peanuts in 20-25 ft and plucked 12 off in 30 minutes. Weather was great so I was content with a peanut festival.

Nothing profound, Find the clear water vegetation off main lake and pitch at beds. Out there last week and those were the only bites.

Bite is really tough right now for most.
I know that a weekend, seasonal angler coming to Fork for the first time will ignore this advice, but here it is....A) Fish deep and/or B) fish another lake
Throwing moving baits at the bank all day long typically will not yield good results.

Between 2 of us, we had 9 Saturday and 4 up to noon yesterday, but all but two were 3 pound slot fish caught in a foot or less. Graphed deep fish, but didn't fish for them at all based on the weekend before. The deep fish we caught were a pound or less....Hoping some stable weather this week will kick it up a notch or two this weekend!
