Need to add a good crankin rod for shallow cranks, saw this one at Academy today for the price range I want to stick at-under $100. Compared to other 7'erts, it seems to have a much more "softer" tip.

Won one at a tourney. It's long since gone. Not bad for free. I wouldn't pay for one.

if you are going to fish with it for over 2 hours dont get it. its heavy and weighs on your arms and wrist chunking a heavy cranking rod with so many casts. get a lighter weight one like a duckett. especially if you are wanting deep cranks. WM is a good rod just not for long period of use

The reel seat is not secure. It lets the reel wobble around while reeling.

I have started using duckett ghost as my go to rod under $100. If you are wanting a little softer tip go with the Falcon BuCoo, they are superlight too.

I have one of the Skeet Reese Jerk bait/top water rods and it's nearly as light as a carrot stick and I used it offshore to crank in some snapper that were 15-20lbs. It held up nicely. I also use it for worm fishing as I like the sensitivity. Can't beat it in my opinion for less than $100.
