Maybe its a blue bird, post front, goofy barometer day, maybe you didn't use rooster tails, or baby brush hawgs, or maybe the bass went to the mall on a beautiful Saturday in the spring. In other words, who knows? It's fishing, not catching, remember that. LOL

But, I stopped by for about 30 minutes on way home from work for about a half hour, on the Shorecrest side, caught 2, hooked 4 on a rooster tail, switched to a jig/bobber and hung one bass in the 5 lb range, no more than 18 inches from the bank, in no more than a foot of water! Got him to the rocks, before he spit out hook. Then wife called, and home i went.

The two actually landed, and on one you can see what i was catching and hooking them on; Yellow Rooster tail, 1/8th oz.

CPR on all fish, they are still there!

I've been to Bachman twice now. Out of it I got one decent bite and a sunfish... I feel like Rudy is using something different because I'm not the only one who can't catch em on a rooster tail. It wouldn't be the first time I've seen something like this. Thanks for wasting 5 hours of my life, Rudy.

Every pic i post you can see the rooster tail hanging out of the fish's mouth, I got TFF witnesses that have SEEN me catch them on rooster tails. Hell i took my rooster tails to las colinas last friday with 4 TFF'ers, and they saw me catch 4 bass very quickly, while they threw plastic craws, plastic worms, and what not, and could not pay a fish to bite. I have been catching bass at bachman and las colinas on rooster tails since 1970, and they have never failed me. I use rooster tails in the white bass spawning creeks and limit out more times than not. It is flat out the best inline lure on the market. I have caught white bass, black bass, spotted bass, crappie, hell, even bluegills and sunfish on roosters. Took em down to the texas coast and caught sand trout, speckled trout, whiting, sheepshead, croaker, and piggy perch on em. They will work anywhere, on damn near any species of fish! Got pics and witnesses to prove it.

I didn't waste anyones time. I never have twisted anyones arm to go fishing anywhere.

I will continue to fish bachman, with rooster tails, and WILL continue to catch fish!. That simple. And Las Colinas, and all major creeks and lakes, and will NOT get skunked!

Took my roosters to Helmet Lake in Irving today after work and got these two, in about 20 minutes time. Pink Rooster Tail:

Because the wind was so high, and there was really no sheltered area to fish, did not stay long. With UL gear, 6 lb test, and 1/8th oz lures, casting was hard, wind would catch line, bow it, and almost blow it back to you before lure hit water. The fish were definitely there, and with calmer winds, i would have stayed and i am sure done quite well. There were bigger, much bigger fish out there. I dragged the rooster through an area that had two bass trying to set up housekeeping, the female being HUGE, and she took the rooster as it passed by. Strange thing though, I didn't feel her take it at first,it's just that as the line was coming towards me as i was reeling in, it just started moving rapidly to my left, took me a nano second to figure out what was what, set the hook, and she swirled and i caught a good view of her as she dropped the lure! I have had them do that when on the nest, they just move it out of the way. The fish in the first pic is the male that was with that big girl. He attacked in classic bass fashion, not a big fish, but a respectable male, trying to do his mating thing. He's got a honey of a fiance, for sure.

While fishing Helmet, I ran into this young lady, a genuine Canadian Goose, on a nest!

Pretty cool!

Rudy uses small rooster tails every time we fish and I thought he was crazy at first. Actually the first time I met him, we were at Bachman Lake and he landed a bass in no more than 2 min on a rooster tail. If he was sponsored by Walmart Rooster Tails, THEN MAYBE, he'd be lying. Dont ASSUme he's a liar because you can't fish a rooster tail properly.

Btw in a magazine I just read it said go smaller during spring than anything you normally fish. Bigger bass eat more small so they don't have to go after bigger prey.

Haha!!! That's the exact reaction I had when I fished w him a couple years ago. It is a real testament to the evolution of the fishing industry. Oftentimes the simple things work best! After fishing with Rudy I now have a Plano box full of Roosters!

Ram's first "put em on the stringer" sized Bachman crappie:

And another Bachman bass falling prey to my rooster tail

The good thing is since that picture was taken i have lost a few, not many, but a few pounds, and hopefully that fish has put on a few pounds and several inches, lol!

Rudy

PS Ram, when we going fishing again, i got some new spots to show you.

Rudy
