We are almost there; stopped over in Little Elm to visit family before continuing on. Can't wait. We got rained out last year so we're hoping for decent weather. Any tips?

What Lake Eufala are you talking about. I know of one in Oklahoma but never heard of one in Texas.

Lake Eufaula in Oklahoma is where we spent the weekend, mostly staring at the water because it was so windy that our host decided it wouldn't be safe to get out on that kind of chop. I never got my line wet. But we had fun shooting pistols, eating a lot of great food and visiting with a wonderful couple.

Just out of curiosity, what tips were you looking for on a Texas fishing forum? Am I missing something?

Well, since Eufaula is not that far from the DFW area and so many of us seem to have fished more than one lake, I thought I'd ask those who had fished it to share their knowledge. If this was an imposition on you, don't respond.

When I fished there, Rattle Traps worked real well. Lake Eufaula is really big so are fishing in McAllister or Eufaula? I fished coves with rock and grass. Hope this helps

Thanks Steph670. The weather kept us off the lake. Second time I have tried to fish Eufaula and Mama Nature said nope. Still had a great time.

Lived in McAlester for 8 years. Love that lake.Shame you couldn't fish. This time of year the crappie spawn is usually real good up in the rocks and rip rap. Catfish spawn is killer at the same places a bit later in the year. Secret honey hole...After good rain go below McAlester city reservoir no. 3's spillway where it empties into Coal Creek. Fish the creek from there down as far as you wish. It is a super spot after a flood.

That's one of the spots our host told me about but it would have been an 8 mile run upriver in some major chop. But I bought a map and will note it for the next try. Thanks.
