if you didn't want to go through that much building you can get some big flat washers. two per float. and a good sized rope to run through the noodle with a coat hanger but put the rope through one of the washers then through the noodle then put another washer on and then tie a knot inthe end of the rope then pull the washer down to the top then push the other washer up to the bottom of the float then tie another knot in the rope then tie a loop in the rope and cut the excess rope off and tie your line and rig to the rope loop. that'd probably be the easiest way to rig them up. burn the ends of the rope if you use nylon just burn the nylon in two. that way the nylon won't fray out real bad. you have to match the size of the rope and holes in the washers also ... if you get the holes too small and the rope too big then you can't get the rope through the hole. also want the washers to be big enough that they can't go through the hole in the noodles.

My noodle floats are even easier than that. i cut the noodle about 14 inches long, wrap it in duck tape and then use a plasic zip tie to secure a swivel right in the middle of it. i do the zip tie thing again on the end of it with a snap swivel. Now i wrpa about 10 feet of lijne on it with a swivel on the bottom and a large split shot up from that. When i get to where i am going i look at the depth finder to see how deep it is and unwind the amount I am looking for and then run the main line through the swivel on he end. This way its adjustable from 10 feet to 1 foot. I can't effectively run them in high wind but where there is shelter I have had great success with them.

Where do you find the white noodles? All I can find are other colors.

JimmieJazz, it is cheaper to use white duct tape around the colored noodles. Look at the example hooker has posted. Also on the example, notice that hooker has laminated his identification information and has it attached to his jug. This is a great idea.Hooker also has a rr spike as a weight. These are fine if you have them. Also, Academy sells a one pound weight in its exercise department for .44 cents each.

divingcat, Dont mean to rain on your parade, but, mine have NO duct tape, tried that and it had no durability, found some white ones through Chad at Wiskerkitty.com, two years now and no peeling.
JimmieJazz, Good luck, as everything else in life, "Do it right the first time and enjoy the results"

Sallysue,
I have tried painting them but it will not stick and makes a big mess. Just use the duct tape, you will thank yourself later.

I went ahead and purchase a commericial fishing license and a boat license for $42. This allows me to use orange noodles legally. However, you are not allowed to take flatheads if you are using the commericial license.

Hooker,
This may be a silly question but what is the advantage of the PVC through the jug?
