I'm rigging a new Twin Vee 31 for my 2016 offshore season. I have been running 26-28 foot boats for the last 16 years and it was just time to move up or quit fishing offshore. We will be running snapper trips during the charter boat season ( starts june 1 and should run about 50 days). Shrimp boats start running July 15 and provide some great action. Amberjack opens back up August 1. We will also run some overnight tuna trips out to the floaters. My boat is a federally permitted charter boat with reef fish,pelagics,and HMS permits. There are a number of boats running illegal charters off the Texas coast so buyer beware or you could end up without a charter. Here are some pics starting with picking up the hull in Florida and driving 24 straight hours back to Texas.

Yes that's a gen 1 Ameracat 27. I have been running saltwater charters in the summer time since 1999.

Bigger than a Jon boat

Counting the days down till I start fishing my summer trips out of Port O'Connor. Gonna start fishing July 5th and catch the tail end of the red snapper season that ends July 16. Shrimp boats start running in the gulf July 15 so that will be another option and Amberjack season opens up August one. Were also adding the option this year for deep drop fishing for tile fish,barrel fish,grouper,and swordfish plus overnight trips to the floaters for tuna.
