I also use Trokars, for smaller baits the Big Nasty is good, for larger baits, the Monster flipping hook in your favorite size.

Gammy heavy cover. I remove the keeper and make my own. Academy clearanced them out for 68 cents so I have hundreds of 5/0. They make great swimjig hooks also

Trokar here. Never a problem with them, but I pretty much only flip Biffle bugs on them.

I have experimented with a lot of hooks for flipping. I found the hook I have the most confidence in. Gamakatsu, SP11 3L 3 H. 3/0....... It is a stainless saltwater salmon fly hook. I use a chemical to stain it. It may not be the best, as the biggest fish I've caught on it flipping is a 14.20 lb bass, but I really like it.

I switched from the Gammy heavy Cover to Owner's Jungle Hook. I like the keeper much better on the Owner.

Guys I wanted to see what your opinion is on a good flipping hook? I'm currently throwing the Trokar but man they tear the baits up easily just to thread them on. I may be even doing it wrong so I'm open to any advice or opinions. I use a 3/0 Trokar Flippin Hook with the majority of my flipping baits such as Yamamoto Large Flappin Hogs. Make sure to rig the soft plastic as straight as possible on the hook and keep the hook point buried within the plastic. A hard hookset with a straight shank hook Trokar will stick them everytime. Your hook style/size choice should depend on what soft plastic lure that you are using. I hope this helps!

They all tear up baits, but the tradeoff is that you very rarely loose fish on them. I like the Mustad Grip Pin version.

Hmmm, seems that everything has become so specialized these days. Flipping hook? I've always used Owner 5/0,4/0,3/0 XXX Heavy straight shanks. Worked like a charm for many years. Call me a skeptic if you will but it seems the guys in marketing have hooked more fishermen than fishermen have fish. Of course one must have a "flipping" rod and now I see manufacturers labeling line as "flipping" line. I find myself amused.
