Going to Port Aranasas for the first time for a few days to fish. Any one have suggestions where to stay?

At the end of your life you will regret more the things that you didn't do than the thing's that you did.

Is cost a matter of concern? There are a number of options for places to stay in Port A.

Stay in Port A

I live close enough that I don't usually need to get a room but have stayed at the Shark Reef a couple of times. It's not very fancy or modern but is clean and roomy. And very reasonable.

Friends have told me to avoid the fabled Tarpon Inn at all costs.

I'd recommend Sea Isle Village or Island Retreat on 11th street for condos. Sea Isle has a 5 motel rooms (very reasonable) on the 2nd floor with a balcony for a nice view. This is where we usually stay in the off season. Boat parking, fishhouse, etc. These are some of the older condos, but less expensive. Be sure to check out San Juan Taquaria on cut-off road. Breakfast specials from $1.99. The chicken burritos rule!! Also Island Pizzaria delivers.........
