If I'm going very far I will trailer with the cover on. If camping I use my cover at night to keep the critters out of the boat not to mention leaves, branches and pine needles. Fishing locally, say only 20 minutes from the house, I don't use it. If you do opt for a cover be sure and get one that's vented. It will suck down around your boat like shrink wrap and not flap in the breeze.
To whom much is given, much is required.

definitely worth it...mine is garaged all the time but I use the cover for long trips and over night stays...helps keep the dew off...had many tourneys where we went through rain on the way and get to the ramp and had a boat with dry carpet..also keeps the road grime out when your traveling in the rain...

I have two. One with chairs in, the other is chairs out. I will use the chairs out when traveling in bad weather and use either one when the boat is parked outside.

Travel with it almost every trip. Keeps the road grime off and any dust off (I live down a county road).

My boat lives outside and I keep it covered. The Texas sun can be brutal.

The only time my cover isn't on my boat is if I'm sitting in it. Seriously, I have owned Rangers since 1986. Only two...why? Because I take care of my stuff! My cover is on my boat even when it's inside my metal building. Trust me and cover!
