I used this. Just adjust the little bobber to the desired depth. Go any heavier on the jig head an those little bobbers will sink.

Awesome! I am going to try out this technique next time. This photo is worth a thousand words.

Wind from the north, fisherman does not go forth.
Wind from the south, blows the bait in the fish's mouth.
Wind from the east, the fish bite least.
Wind from the west, the fish bite best.

Its slow right now but the fish are there if you know where to catch them. Location of these fish have already been discussed in this thread.

I ended my day yesterday with 8 keeper crappie and one hybrid. Threw about 15 sandies back cause I didnt feel like cleaning a bunch of fish. Now I know where the hybrids are, all sandies get thrown back unless they are hooked deep.

Water clarity is still good. Bite was much slower this morning. Broke off on 3 hybrids, landed one and still catching crappie by the dozen. Over 100 crappie landed between my buddy and I.....only 5 keepers lol Threw back about 10 sandies.

Really slow day comparatively.

You got serious skills for using 6lb. Are you guys using live bait?
Good job on the catch thumb

If your wirried about breaking off using 6lb mono. You can pick up some seaguar 8lb flouro it has a 6lb diameter. I use it on my fly line leader. Its more invisible in the water than regular 6lb mono as well and a bit more sensitive. You can buy it at walmart. Just fill the reel with mostly mono then put like 100 ft or 150 ft of the flouro saves money instead of spooling the whole reel with it.

Catching hybrids is not hard at all on 6lb line. Everyone that I have caught has been on 6 pound hi vis crappie line and my crappie rod. If you have your drag set right and there isn't anything for the fish to hang you up on, then you should have no problem.

Just 1/8 oz jig zoom swiming shad 3" or roster tail with 3" grub curly tail. No special skill needed location and timing are most important, play with drag that's it. In my opinion Crappie fishing might be much harder. Stay calm, play and then Kaboom. Good luck
