I wasted minnows too. It was tough this morning unless you were already there WAY EARLY before they shut down. I showed up at 9am, and only caught 1 by 1pm.

man, i would love to try "Moon-dinger" again if i can go. i killed the hybrids at the lewsville using moon's custom lure a few years ago. sometimes downsizing the bait helps. they don't always go for bigger bait.

Finally got to fish the creek today. Did pretty good I guess, caught a bunch of little sandies and some little dink crappie. It was a slow go at first found a few here and there. Then saw a guy limit out in a spot and after he left I tried that spot and it was still producing so I gave the fly rod a try and ended up catching them mosty with a clouser. Used a tiny fluke under a bobber for all the other sandies. Had a good time out todau.

Yall thought miller road was a pain in the butt with construction? Well now gun range bridge being widened. Don't think someone put that nice gravel down for fisherman. They are now starting with the process and bet it will muddy the [censored] out of the water downstream again. You are now not allowed to park on the white gravel anymore, as the construction guys are needing access to it now. So u have to park across from the farm in front of the signs. Construction guy said " you will be towed with no warning. If they can't get on the gravel road they can't work. They were very nice explaining that. Two other people have been warned as well. If the gun range owner comes out yelling at you, just give him the finger and keep doing what your doing. He doesn't own the water.

Is it me, or is the fishing off? I'm either in the wrong spots, using the wrong lures, or you guys are feeding them some freaking FAT minnows and they are not hungry anymore...

The creek is barely moving at 102cfs right now. From what I've learned the best fishing is when it's around 300 to 500 cfs.

Fished from North to South of gun range from 8 to 10 this morning...Not a single bite. I'm wondering if they are still there or they have gone back out to the lake. frown

Wind from the north, fisherman does not go forth.
Wind from the south, blows the bait in the fish's mouth.
Wind from the east, the fish bite least.
Wind from the west, the fish bite best.

Conditions looked great today.... low pressure and some passing clouds should have been a great morning at the creek.
Here are a few pics of the ones I caught yesterday evening. Not very big but fun to catch on light line. Try some of those tiny flukes on 1/32 ounce jig head under a bobber about 4ft or so. That worked great yesterday. I caught and released a bunch. Also got some on a clouser minnow fly.
