I was told that we cannot combine fish on one stringer. So what about boat rules? They all go in the same cooler don't they?

I don't see a problem with putting 25 crappie, 25 sandbass and 5 hybrid on 1 stringer, other than it would weigh 200 lbs! Who told you this? Surely anyone significant like a game warden would know the species difference so I don't see why it would matter?

The future game wardens at the creek, for example a buddy and I had one stringer and we put ten hybrids on that one and only stringer, future GW said that was not allow, what's the difference between that and a boat full of fish? Seperate coolers?

It is all up to the game warden officer if he wants to see who's fish belongs to who in a boat or a stringer. ( If they are in a bad mood ) But most of the time they are easy going and will not press the issue. smile

I think the problem was 10 hybrids on one stringer when there is a 5 per person limit, even though you had 2 people. That's a little different then mix matching fish together. Probably some technicality involving having limits for more than 1 person per stringer?

Like say you and your buddy were fishing beside the gun range this morning like me, and some of those bullets ricoched (like I was hearing several of them do today), and your buddy drops dead into the creek...well, now those 10 hybrids are all yours and you are over the limit.

I don't know how I come these things...don't ask. Hehe!

Are y'all catching shad? Yesterday I went with my fiance and got skunked. I brought my throw net figuring I could catch some but couldn't. We were in our kayaks and went up and down the creek throwing in spots that looked perfect and nothing. I think I'm gunna try and put in at the gun range and see if I can go north and run into them up there. I may have to try and go out with one of y'all to get some tips. PM if you're interested I do have two kayaks one has a fish finder!

I haven't seen any in the creek, but I'm sure they're there somewhere. Try the main lake, I see shad jumping and sandbass chasing them all the time close to the banks.

Gun range would be tough to put a kayak in at. The 2 small rapids at Pleasant Valley and Bush might be tough to get through too. Some spots are really shallow.

when you have 10 fish on one stringer, one person will have 10 fish in his possession leaving the creek which will mean he is in violation. Be safe and keep one limit per stringer. Having different limits of different fish is a separate subject and it's perfectly ok to keep a limit of sandies, hybrids, and crappie on one stringer.

Hey guys, at the bike park off of Centerville there is a Great Blue Heron hung up in some trash or line. 75 yards down stream on the east side. I can't get down the hill due to a new hip and I kept getting lost in the TPW phone tree. Last option was to see if anyone here knows the right number or could swing by and help the poor bird.

I've always heard to leave that to the professionals. They'll stab your eyes out with their beaks.
