 Lawrence Sonar stops and then restarts

We were fishing mega bass this weekend and our hds 7 and 9 both were freezing on the sonar or down imaging screen. they were doing it at different times. They would freeze for a minute or so and start again. It did it on and off all weekend. Any ideas what cause could be and how to correct it?

Mine did the same thing last week...best response I got was bump down the ping speed to 18-19...did not have another issue last time out.

Batteries are new. ITs odd that it did it on both units. Never had a problem before. I will try ping speed first. If that doesn't work I will try reset.

If memory serves which it's going fast Lowrance put out a video stressing the need to power down your unit via the options menu when you press and release the power button rather than just holding down the power but like I had been doing. Once I stopped doing that my HDS 9 hasn't been freezing up anymore like your describing.
