Well, it is the internet, just have to ignore the comic relief. A few guys posted how they did, my partner already left a response so no need to repost it.

ahhhh I think your son meant to say "slot fish" when he stated "over the slot fish" he implied that they were 24" or more which would mean he caught 3 8-12lb fish in one day, which is not impossible on fork. Don't think anyone was being rude just simply confused by how he worded his post then double confused when he posted pics of "slot" fish. Those are very nice fish and he is right to be proud of them thats for sure. Just a simple misunderstanding

And since your complaining about not getting to wanted response here is my report. I caught one fish on a watermelon red fluke with the tail dipped i had it rigged on a 4/0 hook and a pegged 1/8oz weight about 1' but the line. She was 8.35lbs and was about 23.5" long she was sitting in 3fow off a grass edge, she had already spawned i would imagine at least a week ago judging by how her tail was healing

Dont take these boys too serious they are just funning around.

I did not fish this past weekend but the week before I fished the TFF OT tourney deal out on Fork. Partner and I came in 4th from 21 teams... or 18 I forget. Anyway we were catching them all on senkos shallow.

That seemed to work pretty good.

Caught them really well earlier in the week on moving soft plastics but that bite vanished with the cold front. It looks like the weightless soft plastic and or texas rigged plastics around the vegetation in spawning pockets won the day..

He meant slot fish. He's a young fisherman, give him a break.

I know just how you feel. I have a place at Fork and fish almost every weekend. Probably fished 8 days in March before the MegaBass. Caught fish on most of my patterns. Even caught my personal best and my first Fork over. We were pumped headed into the tournament and did not boat a fish all day. Don't give up young man I'm 55 and been fishing since I was 4. I'll be back at um next Saturday and so should you..

I don't think anyone gave him a hard time they were just confused if your going to get on the TFF your going to have to get a thicker skin. Little ribbing is good for ya

We did catch 3 over the slot last Sunday. Caught 16 during the tournament all on a split shot rig fishing slow, slow. All were in the slot but 1. It weighed 2.27 and got us 150 in the second to last hour. We had a lot better day than anyone around us but they were fishing way too fast with the cold front conditions.

I caught 2 nice under the slot on a Black Jig with creature trailer 1st thing in the morning. In fact one was on the first cast then about 4 cast later the other one, then went around the dock and missed another one. But I wasn't fishing the tourney Sunday. Trying to throw something with a little bulk so the fish could see the bait easier.

Thanks,

Don't let the Yahoos on here (including me) get under your skin. This forum is an excellent place for information. It is also a great place to meet like-minded folks that simply love fishing.

On the TFF, everyone has an 80 mph bassboat and we all catch double digit bass every trip!! woot
