Thanks - it is not as fast as you might think. It has a 103" beam and is 25.5 ft long which significantly incrreases drag. Light it is in the 80's, but the ride is great. We were out on Conroe today and it was blowing hard. The spray from the waves went right around us where in a bass boat you would be taking it right in the face.

Not sure if you have kids or not, but a center console is way better to take the family out fishing in! Just one more thing to consider.

Matt. your simmons is awesome, congrats on winning at life! Pretty cool to see a SCB going after Bass. I think as time goes on CC popularity will pick up. I fish out of an 18' Kenner, no issues except that it's not as fast as most bass boats.

I have a 22 ft cc, only thing I miss is the speed! It has a 250 etec but still runs 52 mph. Plenty fast

I got sick and tired of the rough ride bass boats offer. I have owned 9 different bass boats and riden in many others. They are very capable machines, but I don't care what anybody says - the rough water ride is not good no matter what brand it is. Out of all I have owned, the 521 Ranger was probably one of my most favorite all around, This time around I went with a center console setup specifically for bass fishing. It handles rough water like a dream and had yet to have any challenges due to the larger size. Here is a pic and video of what I had built. You do not have to go as extreme as this and you will still be very happy. There are a lot 22-23 foot bay boats out there with the bubble style center console. Drool. Coming from the coast most of my life I know the scarab boats well. That thing is a beautiful machine.

I am also thinking about a CC for bass fishing and I currently have a nice aluminum bass boat that I like, but it does seem unsafe and for sure is uncomfortable on big lakes and in heavy water. I don't mind Striper fishing either.
I guess my question is, what are the pluses of a bass boat versus a CC for fishing? Is it more speed and more storage for the bass boat versus more stable ride and easy 360 access for a CC?
Thanks.
