I took a vendor of mine fishing at Fayette yesturday 2/8 and had a fantastic day. I had hoped to get on a lipless crank bait bite and did catch a limit on it, however fishing for spawing fish was the ticket. Most of the fish came off of Senkos in 1-2 ft of water. Color didn't make much difference; watermellon anything. Backs of creeks and draws held most of he fish, but long stretches of reeds held nice fish as well with many of the little indentions predictably having a fish in them. We ended up with between 30 and 40 slot fish. Best 5 were around 24 pounds. Missed, lost, or broke off another 10-15 bites. I love Fayette.

Were you at the opposite side of the dam? Most reports this time of year say to go to the dam discharge area.
I have to admit I love Fayette also.

I do not know what you guys are talking about. Fayette only has tilapia, gar, catfish and carp. I would not recommend making the long drive out there.

;-)

If you happen to see me "catfishing" in the backs of creeks or inside pockets on Saturday at Fayette, swing by and say Hi. I will be in a white w/sliver-blue stripe Nitro.
