Hmmm, I caught a couple with jigs off the pillars by the old railroad bridge a couple weeks ago. I am thinking they ought to be moved in pretty good now though. Either way I will let you know what's going on tomorrow.

Caught 10 on Tuesday between i-35 and railroad bridge, only 4 keepers, a handful of small largemouth bass, and a big Sandie. Used blue/silver and green/silver jigs. Fish were found tight to cover between 10 and 2 ft of water near the bottom. Fished out of a kayak all day - 7a-7p. May be back today!

Been going a couple of times a week for last 3 weeks or so and it has not been as good as years past, YET. I fish out of a two man baby basshunter so if you see me say high. Most fish that I have been able to find in there this year have been caught on peas and carrots anywhere from 7 FOW to 2 FOW. I keep hearing stories of decent outings but I havent really had one yet. Do any of you fish on the west side of the I35 bridge? I never travel up that direction.

at times you can catch the sandies west of 35
Trust your own instinct. Your mistakes might as well be your own, instead of someone elses.

SKUNKED! Water had still had a lot of sediment in it. I started at the 35 bridge and went east about 100 yards past the railroad bridge. I got one bite near the cement pillars on rr bridge and that was it. I mostly picked around fallen trees and brush piles. Trolled a little with 8 different kind of jigs out. A couple sandies were caught by bank fishermen using cork and minnows. So I decided to take a real quick trip up west of the 35 bridge. I made my way up there but didn't stay long. Didn't see any sandies spawning, but then again I don't think I went far enough up stream. I have been told that you need to go all the way until you almost get to the second bridge. Right below the white water they fill the water up. The current was kind of fast though and I didn't feel like dragging the boat especially since I was short on time. I am in a little 12ft flat bottom John boat, camo painted, and either running a trolling motor or a 2 hp Johnson, say hi if you see me!

Still slow, fished yesterday 3-6 with 4 quick fish and then the cold wind started and the bite shut down. Just like all the trips there this spring, all small fish. I have found a few keepers each trip but they are barely keepers and I have returned them all. Scotty, was that you that I helped load that small jon boat up while I was about to put the 2 man in?

Fishbonz - I did put in at the 35 bridge. I went up stream quite a ways and caught the one Sandie in a deep bend, and the bass on bottom near trees in flowing water. The crappie were east of 35, near the bottom too, most bit with a slow drag/bounce along the bottom or a when I dropped the jig off cover and then held still. I can't say it was more fishing the right way or more getting lucky.
I fished Wednesday morning a few hours and caught two the same way but no fish were holding in the same holes as Tuesday. We even found one in the cove near the park in the cattails so at least a few have moved shallow.

Just curious where you put in because there is a little ramp on the south side in a neighborhood park that I use that`s waaaaaay better than muddy I-35,It even has a fishing dock.
