I have stints in my legs , and I do take meds for it , at times it's hard to stand a lot. But I figure if Dr. feels I can work , then I can fish. I fish alone just about al the time , but when I do I usually go to a lake I know very well so I don't run into expected things. I have fell into the lake , lol. I just stood on the motor and used the button on the lift to get me back into the boat. When I was younger I fished with a older man who had heart problems , he was happy I was there , and I learned a lot from him. You can always find a young man that will know what to do , and who to call. Just let them know. You will have less worries , and he will have a lifetime of memories.

Hope you have an easier time finding a good fishing buddy, they're harder to find than I ever imagined.

The one thing I believe in and have witnessed to many times to count. When it is your time to go, you go, and when it's not you don't. It doesn't matter what precautions you take or how hard you attempt to prevent it. When the "BIG MAN" says its time its time. I enjoy what I do every day. I never sweat the small stuff.

I am 64 yrs. young. I have had 6 stents installed in the last 3 yrs. I fish alone about 98% of the time. I always tell my wife where I will be launching and the area of the lake I will most likely be fishing. I always have a cell phone with me. I always wear a life jacket with the kill switch attached anytime the big engine is running. I have added an extra boarding step to my trailer to assist getting in and out of the boat when launching and loading. I have a boarding ladder in the back of the boat in case I fall in. Because my power poles prevent this from coming down completely I have installed a remote switch to the power poles I can reach from the water.

With all that said I firmly believe when the good Lord calls us to come home it will happen whether sitting in a recliner or on the water. I can't think of anything better than passing doing the thing I have had a life long passion for, but I take all these precautions because I ain't in no hurry. smile

Go fishing and enjoy God's creation

74 and fish half the time by myself. Think nothing of it and have no big concerns. I do the following by myself or with someone else - Wear a PFD, use kill switch, have a boarding ladder, relieve yourself in a can instead of hanging it overboard. Do not set at home, keep yourself in decent shape, and get out on the lake fishing.

If we concentrated on the really important stuff in life,
there'd be a shortage of fishing poles
