 I caught this bad boy yesterday on my dad's wheaties dough recipe and 35lb mono, fought hard but got him in, weight was 21.6 which I was later informed that it was 1.69lbs from tying the current lake record

way to go ! they are fun to catch ...i and many have unofficially broke the records many times on most species recorded on the tpwd page. the biggest buff i have eye witnessed and photographed was 29.4 lbs . heres the pic of it .congratulations on your fish ,the smile says it all !
