Hey folks, I need a little advice.
I am trying to get a much needed vacation after 3 years and am heading off to Galveston in April (14th) for a week.
I intend to fish from the shore most of the time but want to try a little offshore trip for myself and better half but over two days (a day for me and one for her) as we need to doggie sit!
We dont have too much money to spend so a party boat seams the best way to get a little fun for both of us.
I have seen a few recommendations for one company and feel happy they will be a safe bet for both fish and wellbeing (i.e., it wont sink!) but wanted to know from you great sages if you had any recommendations?
Thanks in advance

If you're going to Galveston, and you want to go on a partyboat - go with Williams partyboats. They run the Capt John for offshore trips, and the Texsun 2 for nearshore/bay trips. I believe their website is www.galveston.com/captjohn, and their phone is 409-762-8808. If this info isn't right, message me and I'll look it up in my calendar. They are professional, courteous, and they will try their best to put you on fish. In regards to their competitor down there ... momma taught me that if you can't say anything nice about a 'body, don't say nuttin at all. Z

Nigs.....
You might have a hard time booking a party boat trip the week of the 14th in April. That's just before the Red Snapper season opens (hopefully) and I doubt that there will be a lot of people going then. If you could delay your vacation a week it will be different.

Capt John is awesome. I have gone out with Galveston party boats about 15 times and can honestly say I have never been skunked or very disappointed. If no one is catching fish they move. Get there early so that you can get a spot inside and have a bench to sleep on. But, given the chance, I would try to get on with the Capt john. One of the captains even came down and personally gaffed a 45# grouper that I caught. They dont mind you switching up your lures or bait and let you freeline if you want. That goes for both places. Have fun. PS after your trip, there are guys that clean the fish for you. Use the heavy set guy who wears a black rain hat and is kinda heavy set. He looks like an axe murderer, but does the BEST job. Got lots of funny stories, if you can get him to talk!!
If I remove the poison dart, could you please, please suck out the poison???

Thanks BAD-sunburn, again it looks as if that Capt John has the vote,I'll use the guy you recomended but if all else fails I can clean and fillet too. Mind you I should as I do sell fish for a living!!
I'd love to hear the stories.....
