Generally a bad day upriver. Caught one at the rapids, then pulled through and ran up to the second set of rapids and caught one more. That's it, stayed up there until noon. As much water as was flowing at the highest point i went, I see no reason why they may not make it all the way up to Rebecca Creek rd.

Texdan.I don't know the answer to your question or I would give you my two cents worth. Maybe you should post it in the White Bass section to see if someone there can answer it. Just a thought. Good luck..

Wileg, your report was not what I wanted to hear. I plan on making the run up there in the morning but now I'm wondering if it would be worth a 33 minute ride up there. I don't have a 4 wheel truck which you really need at ramp 11. May just try the lake coves instead. But thanks for the report, disappointing as it was.

I am second that. Almost lost my truck backing up to far to drop my yak in!

Caught a nice white on the way from ramp 11 to the rapids weekend before last. I'm also new to this... Think I was trolling way too fast. The rapids were packed with boats and people n the shore but they were catching a few small males and nothing more.

Wishing I was in my kayak.

.

What's the problem with ramp 11 that you would need a 4x4 for ?

Is the water clear up river in the rapid area you fished ?

Odd that they are not up there yet.

Thanks, Chris

Its very steep very slick. I struggled, slipping back with empty trailer. Finally made it. Friend of mine told me many without 4 wheel drive have had to call for help to get up. I got lucky but it was enough for me. Never again. Water was not too muddy up there Monday.

Been there, done that, got a t-shirt. The launch at Rebecca Creek is the steepest ramp I have ever negotiated. The first 6 meters, no problem. After that, its a really steep angle down. With the water up, it's not as bad. You will find it easy to launch but getting a large heavy boat back up this long slick ramp will not be a happy moment. Have tow rope with you.

The water was still muddy upriver on Tuesday. The fish were up there, just could not get them to bite. As for the steepness of the boat ramp, agreed, i've never been able to pull my boat out without putting my truck in 4 wheel drive. My buddy gets his boat in and out with a Dually, but he struggles with traction. It's a difficult ramp.

That old ramp has been there ever since I can remember and someone once told me it was once a private ramp only for the property owners of that old subdivision.
I can see where that may have been the case because it doesn't look like it was professionally built by the county who only maintains the parking area, and road leading to it.
I decided years ago that if I wanted to fish the white bass run at Canyon it was in my best interest to purchase a 4 wheel drive vehicle. No problems with any ramps ever since. thumb

Just one more cast!

The ramp at Rebecca Creek and the Turkey Cove ramp before they rebuilt it is the reason I purchased a 4X4.

Ran up to the rapids at 5 p.m. today, fished 30 minutes with minnows until the lightening scared me away. Caught 2 keeper males, and 2 undersized males. Pretty good for 30 minutes, better than Tuesday for sure.

I second that. Thanks Keep the reports coming Willeg. So far my forays for the whites have been nothing to report. It might be a while now for good reports with the colder temps.

The whites are stacked up above the old rapids....take you boat as far as it will go you will be very successful.....Best bait is large minnows. The large minnow are catching the larger whites.. good luck...I was up there yesterday....
