Mark, your comment about big baits and Lake Fork. Ran xcross a box of "The Big Salami" last weekend. There were Shad, rainbow trout and a couple other colors. All jig heads were powder coated. black. 1-1 1/2 oz. My gosh we caught a lot of big fish slow rolling those baits.
In the dead of winter. When it used to get cold in late Dec-Jan. Nastier the weather, the better. 3/4 oz. Lil George and a 3/4 CC spoon rounded out the 'Arsenal'.
A/C was a morning deal for us, but always produced BIG fish.
Mark Pack taught me these techniques. 15-20 yrs ago. Helped me to refine them over the years, too. Credit where it's due. Thanks Packman! Fouz my very first Lake Fork guide trip Cory and I took was to throw this pattern with Mark in November about 20 years ago! I had my first 25b stringer in about 45 minutes of throwing those plugs! Great memories.

The originals came with much heavier hardware than after Arbogast bought them out. The old ones have massive eye screw while Arbogast models have much smaller ones. These were replaced primarily with MS Slammers after the Arbogast buy out. 'spoon

Vary your retrieve, make note of what works, but for us it was just a steady wind...For a swimbait, these can be moved fairly quickly.
