Thanks for sharing. Looks like there were plenty of people out enjoying the summer weather.

We caught 18 whites yesterday. The white bass are biting early on artificial then we caught the rest on minnows the rest of the day.for it being the first year with a good flow in some years, the bite will be better next year!

Nice pics fishingfool40. Thanks for sharing. You caught my wife and I in one of you pics of the two boats. We went up almost to the falls. I think the fish are a ways past it.
It was good talking with you.
Shut up and fish!

The website says that the park opens at 8 and then it says it opens at 7...anyone know what time it opens for sure? Taking the hobie outback out there tomorrow if anyone wants to tag along. Gonna head way upstream and chunk jigs and other small lures all day.
"Ahhh, yes yes...who has time? Then again, if we never take time, then how can we ever have time?"

Fished this morning from 7-9:30am and picked up 33. Kept 2 for lunch. All were caught on 2 in shad flukes with a 1/16oz green jig head. Reeling as slow as I could without hanging up was the key. I tried roadrunners, inline spinners, and flys after and only got a few bites, but no hook ups.
Fished around newly submerged cover between the ramp and the shallows.
Looked like it was going to be another busy day at the park as there already around 10 boats and several people setting up for the day on the shore when I left.

Fished this morning from 7-9:30am and picked up 33. You caught 33 fish caught in 2-1/2 hours?, or is that a misstype

Wow. 33 in just over two hours make me wonder what the heck I was doing wrong last Tuesday. I guess shad flukes worked well. I have some 2" albino flukes with white 1/16 jig head that didn't do much on the last trip.
good to hear people still catching limits out there. I haven't been one of those so far.
Shut up and fish!

Well, the wife and I went out Sunday afternoon. Not much luck. I caught 2, the wife caught 1 fishing with river minnows. It was sunny, windy, and cold. Like a dummy, I wore shorts and a short-sleeved shirt. No jacket. I saw 1 fly fisherman with about 8-12 or so. Not many others catching.
The water is up about a foot higher than a week ago, and stained. It was murky and you couldn't see through it. I think we may get more rain this week. Not sure. I'd imagine that will muddy up the water even more.
I may wait until the weekend when its warmer to go back. Hopefully the water will clear up by then too. Maybe the fishing will improve by then. I guess that's why they call this "fishing" and not "catching".
Tight Lines!
Shut up and fish!

I went this past week for my first time fishing at Reimer's and it was really windy, I only caught a couple whites on lures and nothing but small Guads on store minnows, some guys using river minnows had about 7 whites. Does anyone know if the run is close to over and if it's not how long might it be going for, thank you.

Rule of thumb is the spawn will last up to the first week of April, but you can still catch fish longer than that. They start getting smaller towards the end of the spawn.

We didn't have much luck last weekend (3-27-16). I didn't see many folks with fish that day. many folks were just sunning and hiking. My neighbor went Wed. 3-30-16. he only managed about 10 keepers. he said he caught a lot of undersized but only the few keepers. this year's spawn out here was strange to say the least. but, we were just glad to be able to return to this beautiful place and fish again. My bass buggy was finally put to use after years of storage. it was a lot of fun seeing all the fishermen out there. I believe Reimers WB spawn will only get better in the coming years.
take care everyone and tight lines!
Shut up and fish!
