Does anyone know if you can eat the fish there? Looks like it connects to Mountain Creek. I always see people catching and keeping it. THANKS

Mountain Creek Lake fish has over 4 times the recommended toxicity levels. They recommend you don't eat it. Used to be illegal to even fish it. Recommend catch and release only. http://tpwd.texas.gov/fishboat/fish/recreational/lakes/mountain_creek/Look at the blue link that says "Consumption Bans".

Why do people take the fish from the Dam? FROM Joe Pool Spillway is fine. Joe Pool is not contaminated.

I believe Joe Pool feeds into Mountain Creek, not the other way around.

I was thinking the same thing. There is always people fishing also under the bridge in Camp Wisdom.

I've fished Joe Pool and spillway many times and ate the fish because I grew up in Grand Prairie. Having done that, we all knew to stay away from Mountain Creek Lake. Something about spills/contamination from the air base there. There is still a plane sunk with the tail up out of the water, too.
The contaminants are actually going down so they let people fish for fun now. But I still think it has like 30 or 40 years to go before "safe" again.

I know about the actual lake...been there and seen the sights of no fishing..but I think the dam and the creek there is safe.
