If it becomes a problem by a more aggressive tire tread and that will solve 99% of your few issues.

First 2wd I bought has LS. I took it straight to the tire shop from the dealer and put some mudders on the rear. Drawback was I could never rotate the tires.

Also get decent tires, my suburban pulls boats out of ramps my Silverado slips on. the factory tires are junk, my sierra had mud grips on it and would pull the boat up any ramp my suburban could. like redchevy said, more gas is not the answer, if I slip I click my parking brake two clicks and start over most of the time it will ease right up the ramp
Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst

The only thing they have going for them is a soft compound. What kind of rear ends have in the truck and suburban. One may have LS or a locker whereas the other does not.

Sure! I towed everything I had with my '82 Chevy 2WD and my '99 GMC 2wd. The '82 Chevy visited most ramps in Texas I think. A buddy once said all you have to do is look at the accelerator to pull the boat up the ramp. 18' Bass Boat 175 Merc

Just a FYI, but never ask your wife to get out and sit on the bed railing because you need extra weight in back. Lol, if looks could kill.

True, but my truck tires are junk, they spin in wet grass whereas the all terrain/mud grips on my sierra I never got stuck in the terrain I am used to driving on. I believe my truck has the same gears as my suburban, I will have to check, I want to say they have 308s, my sierra had lower gears

I have LS front and rear, 4wd, and a rear locker. I never have to engage the front axle or the locker and I never slip.

Two years ago, I saw a guy pulling a 19' Ranger with a Mazda Miata at Castle Boykin on Rayburn. Pretty much makes all the "can I pull with my..." questions just seem silly.

I had some aggressive tread tires on my xterra and had to use 4x4 to get up the Alan Henry ramp. The next set was an all-terrain/highway hybrid style that I've used before. I haven't used 4x4 on the ramp since.
