Like you said, between the wind and and the water color... I didn't feel it. I'm sure someone was on them, not me though

The lake was WINDY today! My client, Mark Gustivasten and I got on the water around 7:15 am and had two in the boat by 7:30. It only got better and we ended the day with a double hook up at 4 pm. We boated 40 and should have put 80 in the boat. Our best 5 probably went 20 lbs. Lot of males in the 3 to 4 lb range. Mark had 1 over 5 and lost one a little over that. We caught fish all over the lake, the only constant was water depth and the lures we used. We stayed shallow (less than 4 ft, the water was fairly stained and was 64 to 67 degrees. The guys that have fished with me know how we caught most of our fish.

The lake was on fire tonight, i did not fish tournament bc it would be all over here (TFF) if I won, bc I'm a guide but fishing was on and I also seen some fish on beds even with the dirty water. Just rolled in the driveway and wish I was headed back in the morning!
Also I have any opening this Saturday for a guide trip. Contact me, let's catch some bass and enjoy this Great Lake before everybody trash talks it to death.

7.60 won the pot last night. A little over 500 dollars. Fishing was good just windy for a little bit then got nice. Better luck next time. Congrats to the winner.

is there any tent camping available on the lake? Thinking about dragging my kayak up there for a night or two? Would like to stay on the water or at least near it.

I would check with the Athens Municipal Water Authority.
The RV Park is closed.
The big restaurant is closed.
The Marina Bait & Grill is only open on the weekend (with very poor hours)
The ramp is open 24/7
??? Tent camping ???
Rules & Regs of Lake Athens does not say you can't.
They do say any temporary structure on the property cannot be there for more than 14 days in any 6 month period.
