It was breezy this morning. We launched on the Hwy 66 ramp around 10:00 am and went towards the north end of the lake where the Trinity River feeds from Lake Lavon. From there we went up the Pilot Grove Creek section and fished with lures and live minnows until early afternoon. It started to get windy up in the creek when we left. By the time we got back to the main lake it was quite windy and very choppy. The ride back was wet and bumpy, but fortunately it was warm today.

I did not notice any fish on my graph the whole time going up the River.

We only managed to catch 2 dinks. I am waiting for the sandies to migrate to the creeks, but they have not yet moved into this area in any large numbers. I keep reading about Rowlett Creek and all the action there. It is amazing to me that nothing was in this area that appeared to be a perfect habitat.

They are already in the creeks, more should be moving soon too with the warm weather.

Theres a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot. Steven Wright
