I do all the time! Fished Somerville Nails and Yegua creeks lately with the spawn. I do lots of night "yaking". Better bite for me and less boat traffic.

That is all I fished for on the yak last summer.
Truthfully though, that is only because I could find them. I happened uppn some brush piles and luckily the fish were there almost every time I fished them.
It's just like crappie fishing from a boat, only you cant haul across the lake to check another brush pile if the one you are at is empty.

Hell yeah! In the process of rigging my outback for spider rigging. Found a way to modify RAM flush mount system to fit the molded rod holders, and getting a RAM wedge adaptor for the center hole...3 rod holders and viola!!! Cant wait! But yes...you need to scout your area well since moving is so much slower. Cant say I am super successful YET...but time on the water will fix that. It would be pretty sweet to get a central tx crappie yakers club going!
"Ahhh, yes yes...who has time? Then again, if we never take time, then how can we ever have time?"

I fish crappie 75% of the time from my yak. Maybe 10% coastal and 15% cats. I would like to see if we could get a yak-n-4-crappie section added to the forum. Personally, I'm not a fan of bass fishing. It just seems to me there's more focus on bass fishing in the yak section than any other species. That's why I don't frequent the kayak section. Anyway, just spit balling here. What do you guys think?

I'm not sure that would really warrant a dedicated forum. we already have a crappie section and a kayak section. No reason not to talk crappie here or in the crappie section.
the only difference is the boat method, and plenty of yakkers post in the crappie section as well

There is a huge difference, attempting keep a kayak over a brush pile is way more difficult.

I'm in the same kayak as you guys. I fished for crappie almost exclusively last year and struck out on most of my outings. I think my problem was trying too many places. I need to really focus on one piece of water and exhaust all my options so I'm not staring at my fish finder for half of the trip hoping to pass over a BP.
Wishing I was in my kayak.
