Do I get the TPWD to come out and certify that? Can I just get a receipt book from office max and make my own receipt?

Thats all you would need to do.

The reason is to prevent someone catching wild bait in a lake with zebra muscles and transporting them to another lake.

What about the birds that transport em every day.

If yall would quit voting for liberals, we wouldn't have these stoopid rules!!

I say we should be allowed to shoot all those birds that transport those zebra mussels from one lake to another, expecially those water turkeys! And we FORCE the Liberals to purchase the lead shot gun shells for us...to "conserve the environment"

Great replies, it was pointed out to me that law is so vaguely written, that it boils down to the individual game wardens and they can pretty much do what they want.

Yep, that is where the ALJ(administrative Law Judge) comes into play...to make up the real rules as they flounder around and write tickets for various and asundry violations...and to expand the laws as written...just saying, they leave themselves room for growth/expansion of the rules that were adopted.

I always used the minnows out of my farm pond on various lakes. I called TPWD to see if this was now outlawed. I could not get a clear answer. Since I take them first to the house and keep them in a minnow tank with CITY WATER, the TPWD lady seemed to think that was OK. BUT the GW has the right "to take water samples" to check for microscopic critters. You know that is not going to happen. Guess I am jigging.

Anytime you ask a question like this, make sure you write down the persons name, office, and title..plus ask them to send you a letter in writing...kind of forces them to run it up the chain for clarification...and they probably won't send it, but at least you can tell the GW you are still waiting on that letter...it will make a difference, in their approach and let them know you made a good faith effort to find out an answer...and that their department has dropped the ball.
