Water is not near as bad as I thought it would be. It is stained but its not chocolate milk or anything. About a foot of visibility now in some places maybe 6" but its not bad. No real current to either. This rain hasn't been heavy enough for long enough to really muddy the water up. But now I think the cold front shut them down a little. Hoping the pressure stabilizes before the tourney and they go back to what they were doing before this crazy weather lol

Paul Ive only had about 20 mins to figure anything out each time and most of that was spent walking and scouting. Each time has been on my lunch break. Sometimes around noon and the other times around 1 so not exactly fishing the same times lol. You of all people should know I know how to target these river fish! smile

I was just hoping for really muddy water with some current to it. Looks like I may not get that frown

The baits I brought with me today were for very stained water and the water is not that stained lol

Did pretty well today. Water isn't all that bad and should be better than today come tournament...that is if benbrook doesn't decide to release a bunch of water

I dont think they will Rus. With the lake worth spillway doing what its doing if Benbrook starts releasing it will create alot of flood problems. Ill bet they wait till it settles down.

How are the water levels. With this much rain there is usually a lot of flooding down there. I assume it will be morning judgement call if it is fishable or not.

See previous quote. The Clearfork did not get hit as hard as the west fork. Water level is fine (couple of feet above normal) and water clarity is just slightly stained. Its really not bad at all.

PLEASE BE ADVISED

Tomorrow will be our second event of the year. We fish 7 am to 11 am. If you are going to be there after 6:45, please let me know so we can make arrangements to get you registered. I am a competitor as well, and we all deserve the same fair chance to get our stuff ready and take off with everyone else.

As a reminder, today is the off limits day. Anyone caught prefishing today will be disqualified from tomorrow's tournament.

We look forward to seeing you guys out there!

Don't forget about Dan's big bass charity fundraiser event coming up on April 17th. Fishing should be really hot on the river then with lots of fish caught!
