Steep bank where red arrow is. Walk on other side. Leave kids at home while going there. Clay pigeons they shoot ricochet all over the woods.

I used to fish south to the gun range a couple of years ago, and never bothered to try further upstream beyond it, but thinking it this year. Since the gun range does not seem to be safe even to just pass by its side along the creek to get through, that would mean either to fish south to it or north to it. That is a pity.

No problem, me and Jimmy went to check it out. I live so close it's like a 3 min drive. 190 and RC was over the banks, just one massive raging flood plain. RC and Pleasant Valley was a little lower than my pics from yesterday, maybe by a foot or 2. I'm guessing that log jam under 66 is busted up by now, but that wasn't stopping the fish anyways.

No problem, bud. Looks like Tuesday or Wednesday before fishing again, but rain again shortly after that. cry

There are more than just sandbass there in the creek, catfish are up now. Hugging the banks, behind fallen trees on the west bank, after bends in the slower moving water. Any slack water on the edge of current. Just something to do until the water clears up.

Thanks Dougthehead for the excellent info.

Wind from the north, fisherman does not go forth.
Wind from the south, blows the bait in the fish's mouth.
Wind from the east, the fish bite least.
Wind from the west, the fish bite best.

Parking along Pleasant Valley on the north side of the bridge, opposite the gun range, will get you towed. There are No Parking signs on both sides of PV. As far as that "inlet" to the field on the west side of PV, I was parked there once fishing upstream of the gun range. When I went to leave, afraid of getting towed out of there, I was questioned by a cop as to why I thought I could park in the farmer's field. I told him it gets plowed under every year anyways and he seemed happy. At one time I heard the owner's of the gun range owned all the land on all four corners right there.

It is legal to park along the shoulder of PV across from the Sachse FFA building and walk from there.
