I can get the four species of Water Snakes found in Texas. It is expensive at $300 per Gal. and is a special order; so you would have to take a whole gallon.
- Northern Water Snake is the most common.

I believe.

Used scents for years and firmly believe they help catch fish. Feel funny throwing any soft plastic w/o some scent on it.

I feel bad for the guys who think scents don't matter. I've seen the difference time and time again.

Yesterday morning after the rain, I couldn't buy a bite on a senko, even tho I knew the fish were there. I dipped one in a little spike it garlic and boated 5 fish in the next hour. If this was the only time I'd seen it I could write it off, but I've seen it numerous times. Scents work to differing levels, but most of them DO work.

While we're on the subject of scents, does anyone know if Kick N Bass goes bad? I have a couple of KnB Garlics that are about 3-4 years old. They turned from light brown to a very dark brown in color but it still smells like normal garlic to me. Just curious if anything in the formula would break down and maybe do more harm than good. (i.e. scare fish off)

They do change colors over time, molecules begin to separate and during cold weather they will thicken to a milky color. If using small bottles try loosening the cap and microwave for one minute, which will thin the pure extract. This will allow you to shake it up mixing the parts back together that have settled and separated. Anything without preservatives will go bad over time. Many companies will add salt which never hurts and acts as a natural preservative.

A bass relies on the 3 S's daily. Sight,Scent,Sound. Anytime you can add all 3 to a bait you will catch more fish... period.

I have found some scents work better than others and I have a few that I use that are not sold for that reason that work really good.

I remember back in the days of using WD 40 on baits and it was crazy how it worked.

Did not stay with the WD 40 very long in fear the fish may grow a third eye or something.

I am a firm believer in scent attraction in fishing and in deer hunting.

Lol....bro I like how you fish like 150 yards from the shoreline. Looks like it (both distance and the attractant) works to me! If you send me the remainder of the bottle I'll try it out for myself.

Alright,

Because of this thread...I went back out there to fish with this stuff for my first full day. I caught 9 fish total on a black lizard again, all on video. Another guy fishing asked me what they were hitting on and I told him a black lizard. He ran back to truck, got one, and we both fished near each other and away from each other and I was yanking fish out and he didn't pull anything out. I've seen him fish before and he has done good but today, the only difference was the scent. I'm not saying this stuff is magic, I'm not saying its attractant...but I think he definitely helps convince the fish that its worth eating.

I'll post the video here after I make it later today or tomorrow.

Ok guys, because of this thread... I headed back out there with the same black lizard, and using the same scent. I had a pretty crazy day. Caught 9 bass and even broke a Rod on a 3 pounder. Check it out.
