Definitely DQ. It wraps up a great day of fishing. They remodeled it recently, kids loved watching some cartoons while eating. I am going to try camp at the park this summer, nice little town.

Thanks Curtis. Yes Sir I fished the day after the second stocking and limited out in two hours. The wind was really blowing hard. Fish would not hit the gold super duper. I had to use the Berkley Trout Bait-Cheese colored. Ended up catching 12 and gave seven to two brothers who were having a hard time catching em. Oh yea made a "Pit Stop" at the D.Q. in beautiful downtown Blanco. It was GREAT!

Love that park and always enjoy reading post about the Blanco State Park. Glad to see it making a good come back. Nice trout guys. Looks like you had a blast. I heard an angler caught a large trout during one of the stockings? How big? Any information on the weight, etc? Kind of wonder why the bigger trout are not stocked in a area where the chance of survival would be good. Such as far north Texas or the upper Guadalupe River?
Side Note: Also love that Blanco D.Q.! Great place to stop!

Thanks Gitter for the reply. Yes Sir an Angler caught a very nice Rainbow during one of the stockings. The length was 22". A picture of him and fish was posted at the Park Office. One very nice fish. Also the park is making a nice comeback. Truly a great place to fish and relax. Side Note: Love that D.Q.!

@banker - I saw that fish being released. It was right around the large powerball and the TPWD staff was showing it off to everyone there at the time.
The park looks great and shaping up for nice spring/summer there.
The D.Q. right across the street is a nice plus and typically my lunch stop.

Yes Sir agfisher02. Parks&Wildlife also let two 23" fish loose on the Sabinal River this past winter stocking. Had one of them trail my Super Duper Lure but it would not take it. It's a shame if no one catches them both those fish will be dead by early May! Don't know why they would not release the bigger trout on the Guadalupe River in the trophy zones. There they would have a chance to survive for a few years. Just my two cents. Side Note: The Blanco D.Q. has been a pit stop for a lot of travelers. It is also a super place to eat for the locals. Always clean and well managed not to mention the food is pretty good also.

Good fishing guys!
Banker- do you notice a difference in size from yr to yr for the trout? Do certain areas have different suppliers that have larger or smaller stockers?
Don't worry about the mule, just load the cart

Thanks Andrew for the reply. Texas Parks&Wildlife do the stockings. There are three or four different hatchery's throughout the State that complete the stockings. As for size I have noticed the fish were a lot smaller on both the Guadalupe and Blanco Rivers(6" to 9"). They were pretty nice size(9" to 12") on the Sabinal River and Live Oak Lake. Side Note: Some organizations do private stockings and the fish are usually 18" to 24" !
