Got another call from a guy at Code Enforcement saying that they are going to continue "looking the other way" when it comes to enforcement of the parks code prohibiting boating on Town Lake. So, it's open to boating, as before, for the time being. At the same time he indicated that this window will likely close as the area around the lake is developed, depending on complaints from residents, etc.
Anyways, since I had started the previous post which might have scared some people off, thought it was only right to share the update. Especially on the verge of the spawn, though the water is not as clear as in years past.

You should have left it as it was - closed. Now the lake will once again be overrun with kayaks.

That place is nowhere near what it used to be 6 or 7 years ago. I absolutely used to love that little gem. I have a picture of a hybrid I caught there a while back

Absolutely nothing wrong with the kayakers that frequent this place. The problem is the people that show up out there and trash up the banks and keep every fish caught. I have fished ptl for almost 8 years and never seen a kayaker or tuber leave trash or cause any type of trouble. What would be ideal is a game warden that shows up frequently.

The problem is overfishing, and the kayakers are a major part of that.

I would disagree. I feel the overfishing is due to the bank fishermen showing up with a bucket and throwing anything and everything in it.

The problem is overfishing, and the kayakers are a major part of that. Same could be said for dang near every community fishing hole, kayakers or not.
