i have an 03 dodge ram 1500 V6 3.7L. I am in the market for a 18-19 ft. boat but i ma not sure if my truck can handle it. Dealor says it can tow 3750 lbs. That isn't going up a steep boat ramp though. What do you guys think?

I have pulled my 18 ft with the wifes dakota with the 3.7, and it pulled it up the ramp better than my f150 5.4 the 3.7 motor will pull it out of most any ramp no problem.our dakota has a locking diff also witch makes a big difference. If you can keep the tires from spinning you should not have a problem.

One strong recommendation, when pulling your boat up the ramp put your transmission in Low 1. When in Drive 1st gear is held in gear by 2 components, but when you put it in Low 1 it is held by 3 things and helps reduce the stress and make things last longer. If your truck doesn't have a external trans oil cooler get one installed!! Best of luck.

When in doubt SET THE HOOK!
