I use a 7' fitec 1500 super spreader taped with 1.5 lbs per foot for winter time deep hole shad. In shallow water I use the cheap fitec 6' from academy that is a piece of junk compared to my expensive deep hole net. What is a good quality spring time net that is smooth like my 1500 with out having to spend $150. Anyone who has thrown different brands and quality of nets know what I'm talking about. Not asking what works good for u guys as I can get my cheap net to throw good...just looking for better quality than the bottom end

Nobody has experience with different nets? Surely one of you guys has been throwing nets and prefers a quality product.

Lee fisher castnets.com has joy and mako nets that aren't bad either

I throw the ones academy sells.

Learning how to fix draw lines, patch the netting, and re-attach lead line will drastically increase the useful life of the net.

Yep walmart 8' is what I throw . Has mono repairs thruout.....

I use a mono 6ft cast net

7ft net 1lb lead. 3/8mesh or 1/2 mesh

I use the bass pro 6' cast net. I can't remember the specific brand name, but I'm not too fond of the plastic/rubber buoys that they call weights on them. I prefer using a Betts old salt 6' or 7' that my buddy has. I'll end up buying one when I have enough spare cash to throw at it.

I use a 6' super spreader, the cheap one because I tend to tear them up. I don't have a boat so throwing from the bank gets you into brush and rocks and mono is easiest to repair for me. I still go thru at least one a year. Still can't throw is worth the [censored] either.
