Had a trip planned this weekend with Dickey Colburn, but he said it wasn't worth going out because too much fresh water & the lake is really muddy

Thats what I was betting on. That means the trout have an back out to the first rigs again. To much fresh water, but you can't complain up here in east texas. Some of the lakes north ends are nothing but a creek channel. You can expect a lot of Fresh water for about the next week. The Sabine river is out of its banks in just 14 hours of rain this last weekend. You'll just have to wait to see how much of this water the Corp of eng. is going to want to keep in Toledo Bend.

Fishing is slow right now on the lake. I have been catching some reds and sheepshead at the causeway out in the intercoastal waterway.I haven't heard any reports yet but it should get good in the water outfall canal from the Entergy plant that dumps into the Neches river. That's warm water coming out of there and the reds love it.

I have yet to fish that area. WHat is the best way to get in there? That is up the river for the big bridge isn't it? I've herd about it but haven't gone looking for it. I know the freshwater fish move to the warm current will reds and spec do the same?

If you put in at the rainbow bridge just head out to the river and go upstream. There is a set of highlines that go over the river. Take a right at the highline cut. This cut is the outflow canal. Just follow it up to the energy plant.
