Makin a run 5.5 hrs down to Corpus Christi on thursday night. Just wondering if someone could point me in the direction to catch some reds or trout. I am open to PINS, mustang Island, pier fishing, BOB Hall, whatever. Just throw me a bone wink and I would greatly appreciate it. I do have a kayak to get out to fishin spots if necessary...

When I have no access to a boat I like to go to Wilson's cut this time of year. Right off of Shamrock cove, with that kayak, you will be able to get on some fish.

Take SPID across JFK Causeway, take left on 361 toward Port Aransas. Pass Packery(fish right,gig left), pass Newport pass(redfish and flounder left), pass CC pass, pass fish pass(good fishing!, shark in the morning), then it is the next one (dirt road on left). All of these passes are good at certain times. With that kayak you should have no problems, paddle out and you are in Shamrock cove, good fishing!

You can catch them at fish pass in the early morning at the 3rd or 4th sandbar from the beach. We have the best luck at Big Shell 5-6 in the morning same guts.

Are you kayacking your baits out, or casting?

See directions above. Turn RIGHT on access road. There are several entrances. There are two jetties with beaches. Shaped like this...
~~~~I~~I~~~~
____I~~I____
We usually fish the left side.
When we bring a yak, we paddle out, otherwise cast from far end of jetty. I havn't fished for shark here in a long time. I havn't even been here for months, but the last times we went was just to snorkle and spear fish. There are much better places to shark fish, but if this is close to you then by all means.
Open a google map and follow 361 toward Port A, fish pass will be on there. It's about 10 miles past Packery.
