Yep the idiots show up every year on this thread. Kinda of sad that they don't have much else to do.

Lols. Against individualized fisherman selecting which fish to keep for themselves, while supporting an industry that mutilates millions of sharks, turtles, dolphins and birds. Enjoy your store bought fish bud, I know I haven't killed any dolphins this year. Too bad you can't say the same...

I had put my coffee down and he had to step over it to stand there. I told him I didn't want to hurt with a hook while throwing out the line. He got pissed and started with the "Your people" and said I didn't respect him. He also said you don't own the creek and I said you're right I don't but if you want to fish here you should have gotten here early. The real problem is this jerk throwing a line and hitting me with a hook or me doing that to him. It's about safety and common courtesy. So, to get rid of him I just held out my pole as a demonstration of how unsafe it is. He left in a huff but spoiled my day so I left.

I'm sure that no one here on this forum is that stupid and rude to do the same thing, but if you see it, people need to be called out. It's just dumb that this guy even did it but it makes me wonder how people raise their children today - a lack of common sense and common courtesy.

Wow KFJ that's ridiculous but truly believable. I've witnessed similar behavior while fishing myself. I've learned can't reason with stupidity you just have to step over it. You handled it as best you could but sorry to hear it ruined your outing.

Well gents, how bad do you think all this "forecasted" rain is gonna affect the creek fishing if it rains as its expected to rain? I know they will open the dam which will pull fish not already up in the creek toward that strong flowing current. Are you all thinking a week, 2 weeks before things settle down and the fish start going back up the creek? Just curious on other opinions. Tight lines and be safe everyone!

A bad day of fishing beats a good day at work anyday!!!

Do you guys do anything special when you freeze sand bass? I vacuum seal them and put them in the deep freezer. They just aren't even close to the same as they are fresh. The texture is all wrong. I don't like to keep any more than I can eat fresh for that reason. Just wondering if there's a method to make frozen taste better. Catfish fillets don't seem to have this problem.

IMHO sandies are ok, but just ok. I normally freeze them in salt water. Seems to keep them firm and less fishy tasting.

I normally fill the bag with fillets and then fill with water so there is no air in the bag and seal it. Then freeze em. Just set em out a day in advance when you are going to cook em. It has always worked well for me
