We've tried Texas City Dike and Seawolf Park and haven't even gotten any nibbles. We're here one more day so any help would be much appreciated. Just trying to make this Spring Break at least worth the trip down!

What type tackle are you using? And bait? There is usually always something biting in the salt water. Lighten up on the tackle and weights and get some frozen shrimp. b

It seems like we've tried everything from dead shrimp, blue crabs, hermit crabs, and artificials...haven't seen anyone else get any bites either. Hoping they all decide to start biting soon!

The small front that pushed through along with the winds have made the bite a little tough. I am not sure where all you are limited to with places to fish but I recommend maybe getting the Navionics Fishing App for your phone, this app give you the ability to look under the water from the bank. The app also gives you tide times for where you are planning to fish. If you can look to find some ditches or small humps along the banks of where you plan to fish and combine that with the tides you and the kids should catch some fish.

Hire a guide. Get the kids loaded up with specks. Will be well worth it.

Anytime we've gone deep sea fishing, they give us squid as bait and we catch all kinds of different things. I've even used it casting from the beach and caught whiting.
