Good turnout today...We got some very solid members here that appreciate what the outdoors is all about!
KungFuJimmy and Mr Dang's afternoon crew headed north and looked to collect what amounted to approx 8 full bulging bags of trash picked up. I know that doesn't sound like much, but when I tell you it was 8 FULL 55 GALLON BAGS - THAT IS A TON OF TRASH!!!
Fantastic job guys!!!! Big kudos for the hard work!
The evening crew managed to wrangle through the woods headed south, and was able to clean a good half of their area. Half doesn't sound like much - but dealing with darkness, swamps, thorns and flashlights while collecting, amounted to about the same quantity of trash being removed from the banks on the south side!
All in all, I would say about half a football field, buried 2 ft deep was collected and will be disposed of properly! That is an absolute amazing accomplishment for 2 four man crews working about 2 hours each!
Thank you for all the time and physical effort donated by these amazing gentlemen!
I'm not sure who else was with KungFuJimmy, Mr Dang and Foxyan, but I'll know soon enough to thank you for your great contribution! Big shouts to Bubbler99, Fishin&Dishin and HeavyLead for contributing on the evening crew!
Hopefully we can do another clean up soon, and garner even more participation! Great job gentlemen, and thanks!!!

Good job gentlemen, wish I could be there. Thank you all for volunteering your time
Why do I go fishing? To catch a box of fish and/or some quality time under the sun. Thank Heaven I never fail fishing in Texas, catching box fish or plenty of sunburn.

Do you gentlemen fish big lakes with surf rods? I have some surf rods and reels and other fishing gears for live/fresh baits fishing, they need new homes. They're not new but in good condition. Please pm me if interested, and we'll work out the logistics.

Still no takers, 2 9' Daiwa graphite rods Shimano Socorro reels, 30# PP braids Cabelas Salt Striker 80 reel spooled with 50# PP braids BPS CATMAXX reel PP 50# Shimano 9' rod, like new 7' castnet 1/4" mesh can catch gosh minnows 2 Magellan waders with small leaks stocked size 10 2 minnows seine Etc... ...
I'm moving and about to leave them with my neighbor but he is not much of a bank fisherman. Gears are good for fishing lake banks for catfish hybrids and whitebass...

Wow, hundreds dollar worth of fishing gears giveaways offer and no takers. I know wrong equipment for creek fishing but I don't have any light tackles to giveaway because I fished open lakes 95% of the time and prefer to fish in windy conditions. Anyway, just so y'all know the two 9' Daiwa - Shimano setups are really good setups, My son caught his PB 17lb striper, I caught my PBs 10lbs striper, 10lbs hybrid, 2 50lbs blue catfish with those two setups. Anyway, the offer is off now, I'm giving my neighbor what he can use and will donate the rest to the state park. Once again thanks for your clean up RC efforts. The trash will be back after this flood but you gentlemen had shown class acts and big caring hearts. It's the image of fishermen that get polished by these kind of initiatives.
