Do I win? Snagged this beauty on ultra light gear with 4 lb test line. Took about 20 min to wear him out and get him in. I got my lure back though, dammit!

It's a buffalo, right? Nasty, so I threw him back.

Yep, it's a buffalo. They are pretty fun to catch on light tackle!

Not trying to pry, but just curious--did you catch it in RC?

Not trying to pry, but just curious--did you catch it in RC? No, at the Lavon dam where it crosses under 78. North of the little waterfall about 30 yrds on the east bank. Step son caught a good size drum too. There's good clear bank spots up there to cast. Below the little waterfall is where the real action was, but that current was too swift for me to get close.

Nice fish. Much better than the two tiny drum I caught in the same area this morning. My kids really showed me up though. One caught a pair of slightly under-sized hybrids, and the other got a monster sandie.
When were you there? We might have seen you.

Right after work just before sundown. Many people were fishing the falls, so we went north just a little to cast a few lines.

We probably missed you then. Left early afternoon. Seemed like a good spot if you can get them dialed in.
