After the rain this week Lavon will be releasing for a few weeks.

True, but depending on downstream conditions, they will close the gates or slow the release for a while if we get a lot.

Not sure how much it matters at this point though. It's already the place to be.

Yeah, but how do you take pictures to show off to strangers on the Internet?

I've never had someone ask if they could have my fish. And I CPR everything. Also never had someone get mad cause I did release a fish. I figure if I release they are ok with that, because now they have a chance to catch it if they trying to get their limit. Sometimes if I see someone keeping I will ask if they want it. But never do I try to tick people off for any reason fishing or not. I have better things to do with my time than amuse myself by making others jealous or angry. Joking around I will do, but thats it. It always gets a little out of hand on this post every year. Its quite amusing to read but sometimes you can get some info. on here and thats the whole point of this post really.

Well I got skunked this morning. Saw about 20 bust the top water and tried, er let me rephrase that, - LOST a ton of lures trying several different spots and scout/fishing other spots without success. Man it was a tough day. Did about as much hiking/boulder climbing as fishing, but it still beats work!

By the way, I'm on vacation this week so if anyone would like a fishing buddy near Hubbard or it's creeks, PM me and we'll go get em! I'll even fish in the rain, I don't care.

I agree with the above. Why would anyone intentionally try to tick someone off? Unfortunately this happens a lot in today's world and it is a sad sight. Joking is okay obviously.

It doesn't sound like the guys keeping their fish are the ones that are getting mad...LOL. coach

Today I went fishing. I was on a very small space that I dug out myself and got there very early in the morning. Some guy comes down and stands NEXT to me. This space was about 3 ft x 2 ft. I had put my coffee down and he had to step over it to stand there. I told him I didn't want to hurt with a hook while throwing out the line. He got pissed and started with the "Your people" and said I didn't respect him. He also said you don't own the creek and I said you're right I don't but if you want to fish here you should have gotten here early. The real problem is this jerk throwing a line and hitting me with a hook or me doing that to him. It's about safety and common courtesy. So, to get rid of him I just held out my pole as a demonstration of how unsafe it is. He left in a huff but spoiled my day so I left.

I'm sure that no one here on this forum is that stupid and rude to do the same thing, but if you see it, people need to be called out. It's just dumb that this guy even did it but it makes me wonder how people raise their children today - a lack of common sense and common courtesy.

oh believe me, lots have asked for my fish when you are catching 10 to 1 fly fishing. how do you show off - well you take a pic and release. Doesn't take a genius to do that. look take you limit but why go back everyday and do it. Why rape the river. You that poor that you have to stock your whole freezer?

Yes I stock my freezer.. Yes I have 4 limits out of 4 days of fishing. I am not a rapist because I limit on my creek! I do it for the family fish fry every year. I can't tick anyone off in my creek cause theres not anyone in sight! I have it all to myself.

Look, it's fun whether keeping or releasing. If I catch a few, I'll release because I keep them live on a stringer. If I catch 20, I'm cleaning those suckers and my family has fish for 4 different dinners.

Maybe some people who keep them everytime/everyday are poor, WTF does it matter to you as long as they are licensed and paid for the right to do that? I see guys fishing with old coke cans and string wrapped around them as a pole, what difference does it make as long as they have a license?

As far as raping the river...I wasn't aware sandbass/hybrids were an endangered species considering there are tens of thousands of them running the spawn each year. I'm sure the Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept has a much better handle on the situation than you. Maybe next time you'd be better not to worry about what people are doing legally with their catches, and maybe concentrate your efforts on those who are fishing illegally.

What's next? Are you going to bytch at me for how many steaks I store in my freezer?

PS...I have a few trees that need a good hugging.

White bass are like cockroaches. They'll be here long after we are gone. They don't live long anyway. Harvesting adult sand bass has little impact on populations.
