I also didn't see many folks with fish this morning. It was slow for sure. The only bite was really early for the only guy I saw with fish.

Nice job! But those fish were certainly not caught in RC. Thanks for the pics though, you'll see me there tomorrow!

I got skunked today. Got out there at 6:30 or 7 and went til about 11, at various spots, and nothing. And that brings me to this question for the room--when I'm using rooster tails, I typically stick to about 1/8oz or 1/6oz, maybe up to 1/4oz on the blue foxes and stuff. I'm wondering though, when I use the lighter lures, if they're staying so high in the water column that the sandies (and whatever else) aren't really having it presented in front of them, because they're (possibly) so deep. So maybe I should use heavier lures to stay lower in the water column, unless the fish really are shallow at the time. Does this make sense? Or am I overthinking it? Feel free to PM me if you want.

I use the 1/4th so I can cast farther. Just give it a few seconds to sink before you start your retrieve. Best to start with a fluke like that so it can drag the bottom. Then you can feel what is under the water before you start throwing the lures with treble hooks.
