Goin to stay in a house with some friends for a birthday this weekend. Do y'all know any spots/ what to throw down there? Is there somewhere we could rent kayaks?

You can rent kayaks from ACK near there. PLEASE keep your head on a swivel when fishing there. Wake boats will push huge walls of water and slam you into concrete barriers and docks if you aren't paying attention.

I would stay off of lake Austin. Fishing is horrible on it now. If you do go put in at the low water crossing that area doesn't get as much boat traffic and the water is clearer.

Yes what James said. Lake Austin in a kayak is scarey on the weekends. Lake Austin full of wake boats and fishing horrible is a real bad idea.
Town Lake (aka Ladybird) is close, has kayak rentals right on the lake, NO wake boats and better fishing.

Yeah lake austin and lake lbj will be swarmed with high schoolers and college kids buzzing around on their parents jet skis...i would avoid them for the next couple weeks. Lake travis is much bigger...more room to find a quiet spot. Cypress Creek park isnt very far away...u can easily launch there and go up the creek. Caught plenty of bass/whites/crappie up there on roadrunners, jigs etc. good luck and watch the weather!

Town Lake is always a great bet with no power boat motor use allowed. The fishing is good with some huge bass and the scenery along the jogging paths sometimes makes it hard for me to concentrate on fishing.
