Local Boy Scout troops are always looking for community projects. Anyone have any contacts?

My son is a scout and I'm bringing him, although he sprained his knee about a week ago so hopefully it'll be okay by Friday. Scouts also need the service hours as well, but I wouldn't be too keen on them going with the evening crew cause it will get dark quick and the morning crew is during school.

If we have a decent turnout and make some progress, we can schedule another pickup on a day and time when more volunteers are available. But to answer you question, yes...I have access to invite several different charters of Boy Scouts to come help.

excellent. I was just about to purchase a trash grabber. Please "grab" as many as you can. And gloves...........

I would suggest entering at the nature trail and possibly at Indian Trail and University. The neighbors wont mind for a good cause and it would allow working from both directions. WE could also haul trash a shorter distance to just in front of the treatment facility.

Do those guys supply a port-a-potty as well?

I doubt they would have a porta potty...I'm scared to ask, but why?

I told her we could use some extra bags, gloves and the trash grabbers. Now just need someone to get them from her, I work all week and can't get there when they are open.

I've done this once before over 10 years ago. You'll make it look clean yes. The next day it floods, it'll look exactly like it did before you cleaned.

Thanks, Heavy! Get with Jimmy if you can. They are going to start picking up after their morning fishing.

Got the trash grabbers, trash bags and gloves! Now all we need is some manpower to forage through the forest and clean that foilage!

Suggestion: those that have rubber boots, wear them please. We want to get as close to the creek as possible and spread out from there. Also 6pm crew, portable flashlights or floodlights will pretty much be a must for seeing where you are stepping.

Any more volunteers would be appreciated!!!
