I've seen a few people say that the striper bite on Texoma has been slow recently but they've done alright with smallies. I've never targeted or even caught a small mouth by mistake so I would definitely consider myself a complete beginner when it comes to small mouth bass. I found a post with several good bait recommendations but I'm wondering what areas and depths would you guys recommend to catch some small mouth bass this weekend? Texoma specific advice would be great but any info is appreciated.

I have a house on texoma and its pretty off color your best bet to run up to the dam where the clearer water is the smallmouth have been doing pretty good lately
Good luck!

Texoma - If you have live shad then free line them on points with rocks.
Find rocks from the damn to Highpoint on Texas sizes, Throw yellow or red crankbaits, White SPinnerbaits, and Yellow Magics and you should land a few. I usually do better between sunup and around 10 am for smallmouth.

Rocks are key to me. Small Pebbles or big boulders Also the louder, brighter colors are better. If you have a Citrus Shad color crankbait throw it! Rattle traps in all Colors should get you bites.

I'm not a big fan of crankbaits but I have to put a plug in here for the SPRO Rock Crawler. Bounce it off the rocks and if there's a smallmouth around he's gonna nail it.
To whom much is given, much is required.
