Headed to Raybob in the morning and have an open seat if anybody wants to go. I live in Euless and will be heading out from here at 5:30am. I will be going for blues and channels both rod and reel and noodle jugs. Using chicken breast and my homemade cheese dough bait. I plan to launch at Jordan ramp. Be back at ramp around 1pm Steve 817 320-0279

Not the best day on Raybob yesterday. Fished 18-20ft water and got nothing. Moved to 4-6ft water and caught 3. Missed about that many more. Ended up with 2 channels and 1 blue about 8 lbs. It was a beautiful day on the water and got some badly needed run time on my motor to keep it purring like a kitten. All 3 fish had a belly full of shad. The 2 lb channels completely swallowed the 8/0 hook with 3" chunks of chicken breast. Sure wish I had started out in shallow water first.

Glad you got to go fishing and thanks for details report. It's good to know that their stomachs are full of shad I can't tell too well on blue belly it being upside-down plus coming from shallow water thus it's belly is not puff up like those from the deep. Looking at pic bluecatfish stomach looks sagging. Not being critical on your report, I am just thinking about the Twak slump theory thread... am thinking those fish did not eat as much as they should this winter and that will affect how much they will spawn. Blue catfish will generally lay about 20,000 eggs per every 10lbs of body weight.

Why do I go fishing? To catch a box of fish and/or some quality time under the sun. Thank Heaven I never fail fishing in Texas, catching box fish or plenty of sunburn.

Was a bad pic plus they had been in the box for about 2 hours when I took the pic. All 3 were fatties when they first came out of water. Strange thing was the blue had no zebra mussels in it. Most blues I catch in Raybob are full zebras but I did not even see many on the rocks and trees yesterday. I do believe the fish are shallow in the early morning. Too bad I wasted 3 hours in the deeper water. Once I moved to the bank around 11am I found fish.
